Mudcloth throw-Yellow and Red

Mudcloth is a 100 % cotton fabric originating in Mali, Africa. Hand woven into 5-6 inch wide strips, each about 5-6 feet long, the strips are sewn together either by hand or with a hand operated sewing machine. Fabrics are then stained with dyes from various roots, leaves, flowers, stems, fruits, and seeds, mixed with mud.This Mudcloth throw can be worn as a shawl or scarf or used as a decorative hanging textile or a tablecloth. This throw can only be dry cleaned. It is recommended that the darker colors (blue, green) be taken to the cleaners before use to prevent any excess dye from staining other garments. Measures approximately 68 x 42 inches.
